In love with Croatia

I’ve been in Croatia for two and a half weeks and I love it!

I spent 4 days in Dubrovnik, which is such an old and beautiful city. I walked the entirety of the old walls, which are gigantic and really impressive. Is no wonder they chose this city as the setting for King’s Landing.

Next I spent a week on a 32-passenger ship sailing from island to island every day and ending in Split. The water of the Adriatic it’s so amazingly clear and bright turquoise! We had swim stops every day, fun excursions like kayaking and river rafting, and saw lots of islands. I really enjoyed spending time with everyone on the ship, it was a really great mix of people.

Yesterday I was at Plitvice Lakes National Park. My expectations were high but exploring the park blew them all away! It was absolutely stunning. The park is a series of dozens of terraced lakes connected by hundreds of waterfalls. The water is vibrantly turquoise and super clear because the water slowly calcifies any mud or debris and turns it to stone. The miles of wooden boardwalks take you right up to (and up and over) the falls. It’s breathtaking. If you only go one place in Croatia, go here (and that’s saying a lot, because I loved the Dalmatia coast).

Now, on to Scandinavia! Stockholm and then the fjords of Norway.
