I have a lot to be thankful for here.
I was thinking about it today during my commute home. It’s 2:20 and I’m leaving school, it’s sunny, mid-50s F (13 C). The sky is blue, the birds are chirping. I can relax on the train home. I can read my kindle, or talk with a co-worker, or even sleep. The warm sun shines through the large windows on the train, and the movement of the train gently rocks me to sleep. It’s so calming, I love it.
In some parts of the world right now, people are commuting in the snow, in heavy traffic, in gas-guzzling cars. They’re stressed, they live far from work, they can’t find parking, etc etc.
Even on the bad days, I’ve never regretted moving to Madrid. But on the good days, I feel incredibly happy and grateful.
