A Day In The Life
Here are some boring pictures of my daily life, mostly just my commute, my neighborhood, etc.
-
-
I wake up between 6:40 and 7:40, depending on the day.
-
-
What’s for breakfast?
-
-
Leaving the piso between 7:30 and 8:20, depending on my schedule that day. The commute is 50 stress-free traffic-free gas-free minutes door to door.
-
-
Walking to the metro, quiet streets
-
-
My metro, Tirso de Molina
-
-
3 stops to Atocha Renfe, it takes 4 to 5 minutes.
-
-
The normal wait at this time of day is 3-4 minutes.
-
-
On the metro
-
-
Transfering to the cercanías, or commuter rail.
-
-
The normal wait for my train is similar to the metro.
-
-
Backwards commute!! My choice of seats. So awesome.
-
-
One last transfer at Getafe Central
-
-
I only go 1 stop on this last metro.
-
-
Walking through the park to get to school.
-
-
León Felipe, my school!
-
-
Those are solar panels at the school, as seen from below. Also, exterior blinds that can block out the sun completely, to keep the rooms cool. No AC.
-
-
When the weather is nice, I walk to Getafe Central rather than taking the metro 1 stop.
-
-
Still walking.
-
-
More walking.
-
-
Walking.
-
-
Walking.
-
-
Walking.
-
-
Outside Getafe Central. Those angel bears are all over the plaza outside the station. I have NO IDEA why.
-
-
On the train back to Madrid. Not shown, the last metro 3 stops to Tirso.
-
-
Upon exiting at Tirso, I’m in Plaza Tirso de Molina.
-
-
Flower stands to greet me every day!
-
-
Walking home. People walk in the middle of the street because there is so little traffic.
-
-
Frutería, I literally walk by here every day. My most common purchases are strawberries, cherries, figs, or veggies for dinner.
-
-
Strawberries! €3.75/kg or $2.22/lb
This gets us to about 3:20pm. After this, I have lunch, then sometimes have a siesta. The evening consists of sometimes seeing friends, running errands, going to Spanish class, or whatever suits my fancy. 🙂
